Staying Balanced with EFT

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a type of acupressure that involves tapping on 9 specific points, or meridians, on the head and upper body.

The goal of tapping is to relax your nervous system so that you can then acknowledge and release the emotions or thoughts that are causing disharmony in the body.

If you’d like to tap along with me, you can check out my EFT #WickedGoodWellness video here on Instagram.

Steps:

  • Identify the issue.

  • Rate the intensity on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most.

  • Setup Statement. (you can ask Dr. Google :-) for some ideas with this too.)

  • Tap!

  • You’re Done! How do you feel?? Rate intensity again. If higher than 2 or 3, keep tapping.

Points:

  1. Karate chop: The outer edge of the hand, on the pinky side. Speak your statement out loud 3 times.

  2. Eyebrow: Where the eyebrows start at the bridge of the nose.

  3. Side of the eye: On the bone along the outside of the eye.

  4. Under the eye: On the top of the cheekbone

  5. Under the nose: just above the upper lip

  6. Chin: The crease between your bottom lip and chin

  7. Collar bone: About two inches below.

  8. Under the arm: On each side, about four inches beneath the axilla, or armpit.

  9. Top of the head: Directly on the crown of your head.

Statements we used today:

1st round: Even though I feel this stress, I accept how I feel.

2nd round: I honor my feelings and allow my body to relax.
